An opportunity has arisen for a Heat Treatment Operative to join an established Engineering & Manufacturing company , supporting the processing of specialist components and materials within the Engineered Products team.
Role Overview
The position involves supporting heat treatment activities alongside general material preparation tasks, including cutting and handling of alloys and components. The role requires a consistent approach to safety, quality, and adherence to process standards.
Key Duties
- Carry out heat treatment processes in line with technical instructions
- Operate overhead cranes and forklift trucks for material handling
- Undertake hardness testing (Brinell)
- Support sawing operations, including cutting materials and sample preparation
- Assist with furnace operation and basic programming
- Maintain accurate system updates on the internal computer
- Support departmental dispatch requirements
- Complete routine compliance and safety checks
- Follow site health and safety procedures at all times
Additional Responsibilities
- Contribute to improvement and housekeeping activities (5S)
- Support problem-solving and process improvements
- Participate in team-based activities as required
Candidate Profile
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Previous use of cranes and FLTs preferred
- Practical, reliable approach with attention to detail
- Understanding of safety and quality requirements
- Able to work independently and within a team
THE POSITION ALSO INCLUDES A BONUS OF AROUND £3,700+ ON TOP OF THE SALARY OTE £40,000+
