HGV Class 1 Driver – Nights – Tipton, West Midlands
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver based in Tipton, West Midlands, to join our well-established client.
This is an excellent opportunity offering ongoing work, competitive rates of pay, and genuine prospects for progression within a professional transport environment.
This position would suit applicants seeking a role as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, or Articulated Lorry Driver.
Shifts
- Monday to Friday
- Start time: 19:00
- Minimum of 8 hours paid per shift
Rates of Pay
- £18.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties
Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Driver will include:
- Operating HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles safely and efficiently
- Working primarily with double-decker trailers
- Completing deliveries and collections as required
- Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks
- Ensuring all loads are safe, secure, and compliant
- Adhering to all UK traffic laws and transport regulations
- Communicating effectively with dispatch teams and customers
- Reporting any defects or maintenance issues promptly
- Assisting with loading and unloading when required
Essential Skills
The skills required for the HGV Class 1 Driver role are:
- A valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence
- A minimum of 12 months’ Class 1 driving experience
- A valid CPC card and digital tachograph card
- No more than six penalty points for minor offences
- A good level of written and spoken English
- Excellent punctuality and time-management skills
- A strong understanding of UK road transport regulations
- Good communication skills
Desirable Experience
- Experience operating double-decker trailers
- Previous commercial driving experience in similar roles

- Full industry-related training
- Ongoing support throughout your employment
