HGV Class 1 Driver
Pertemps are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver on behalf of a leading security logistics company, based in Aldermaston.
Salary: £43,000 per annum plus nights out allowance.
Flexibility required: Your working week may include weekdays, overnight stays, weekends, early starts, late finishes, sometimes at short notice. Overtime available.
Location: Aldermaston, although the role will involve travelling to other locations throughout the UK and into Europe, in the course of your duties.
ADR Qualification – advantageous but not essential as full training and development will be provided
As an HGV Class 1 Driver you will be responsible for securely loading, transporting & delivering specialised freight namely Dangerous Goods (UN Hazardous Classes 1-9 including explosives & radioactive material), sensitive & prohibited items to client’s sites in accordance with ADR legislation.
For this HGV Class 1 Driver position you will need:
- Valid clean driving license held for at least 2 years.
- ADR 1-9 is mandatory for this role however full training will be provided.
- Careful professional drivers – some commercial driving experience advantageous.
- Physically fit, able to load and unload vehicles.
- Team player – much of our work is double manned.
- Strong customer service ethos.
- Undergo security vetting
Qualifications:
– Valid HGV C+E license
– ADR certification (desirable)
– Proven experience as a commercial driver
– Familiarity with flatbed driving
– Ability to prioritise safety and security while on the road
– Proof of 5 years UK residency
