HGV Class 1 Driver (Trunking)
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday Tuesday To Saturday Sunday Thursday
Start Times: Between :00 and 23.00- 02:00 (flexible start window)
Employment Type: PAYE
We are currently seeking a reliable and professional HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver to join our team, specialising in trunking operations. This role involves transporting goods between depots and distribution centres, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and compliance.
This position is ideal for drivers looking for consistent routes, minimal manual handling, and a structured work pattern.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Class 1 trunking runs between depots, hubs, and distribution centres
- Operate articulated vehicles (C+E) safely and professionally
- Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed on time
- Conduct pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections (walkaround checks)
- Safely couple and uncouple trailers as required
- Ensure loads are secure and compliant with transport regulations
- Complete all relevant paperwork and digital tachograph records accurately
- Communicate effectively with transport planners and depot teams
- Adhere to Driver Hours regulations, WTD rules, and all road safety laws
Skills & Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Valid Driver CPC qualification
- Valid Digital Tachograph card
- Minimum 12 months Class 1 driving experience required
- Good understanding of UK driver hours and compliance regulations
- Strong reliability and time management skills
- Ability to work independently
Additional Requirements (Insurance)
- 12 Months Exp needed
- No DR10 or IN10 convictions
- Maximum 6 penalty points (no major endorsements) (if applicable)
