HGV Class 1 Driver (Trunking )
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
Start Times: Flexible start window between 20.00pm – 22.00pm
Employment Type: PAYE
We are currently seeking a reliable and professional HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver to join our team, specialising in trunking operations. This role involves transporting goods between depots and distribution centres, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and compliance.
This position is ideal for drivers seeking consistent routes, minimal manual handling, and a structured working pattern.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Class 1 trunking runs between depots, hubs, and distribution centres.
- Operate articulated vehicles (C+E) safely and professionally.
- Complete deliveries and collections on time.
- Conduct pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections (walkaround checks).
- Safely couple and uncouple trailers when required.
- Ensure all loads are secure and compliant with transport regulations.
- Complete all paperwork and digital tachograph records accurately.
- Communicate effectively with transport planners and depot teams.
- Adhere to Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive (WTD) requirements, and all road traffic laws.
Skills & Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Minimum of 12 months' Class 1 driving experience.
- Good understanding of UK driver hours and transport compliance regulations.
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and professionally.
Insurance Requirements
- Minimum 12 months' Class 1 experience.
- No DR10 or IN10 convictions.
- Maximum of 6 penalty points (no major endorsements).
