MS665 – HGV Technician
Location: Thatcham
Salary: £42,500 – £46,000 per annum
Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a HGV Technician on behalf of one of our clients.
As the successful candidate, you will provide efficient and effective day to day repair, maintenance, servicing and road worthiness of the companies' HGV's, light vans, plant and equipment based at the Thatcham depot.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Day to day repair and preventative maintenance of HGV’s and light vans, including MOT prep, PMI's, servicing and defects.
- Repairs and maintenance of specialist road marking machines & plant.
- On call Breakdown cover (Van provided) with on-call rota 1 week in 4.
- Attend satellite depots to carry out repairs and maintenance.
- Proactively maintain a safe and healthy working environment for yourself and colleagues.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Have a good working and mechanical knowledge of commercial vehicles.
- Have at least 5 years relevant experience in commercial and plant fitting, or qualified to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) or above.
- Willing to undertake any additional training as deemed necessary as and when required.
- Honesty and Integrity.

- Problem solving and be able to use good initiative.
- Calm under pressure.
