Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Income and Corporate Debt Officer for a local authority in Folkestone.
In this role, you will administer Business Rates accounts, maximise council revenue and deliver an efficient, customer-focused service.
Duties:
- Administer Business Rates accounts, including billing, reliefs, exemptions, refunds and account amendments.
- Manage customer enquiries and provide accurate advice in line with current legislation and council procedures.
- Maintain property and account records, liaising with internal teams and external organisations such as the Valuation Office Agency.
- Support the collection and recovery of Business Rates income through effective case management and debt recovery processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Recent experience in Business Rates, Revenues or a similar administrative/customer service role.
- Good working knowledge of Business Rates legislation and administration.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and revenue management systems (e.g. NEC/NDR) is desirable.
- Strong organisational, communication and customer service skills with excellent attention to detail.
What's on offer:
Salary: £18ph+
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
