Salary:             £33000 – £38000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours:              Full-time, 37 hours per week

BRC are working closely with a leading housing association to recruit an experienced Income / Tenancy Sustainment Officer to join their Housing Management team.

This role involves managing a designated patch of properties, maximising rental income, supporting tenants to sustain their tenancies, and responding to anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases. The successful candidate will work closely with residents, partner agencies and internal teams to deliver high-quality housing management services and create safe, sustainable communities.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of rent accounts, ensuring arrears are monitored and appropriate recovery action is taken.
  • Support tenants to sustain their tenancies through early intervention and advice.
  • Investigate and manage anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases, taking appropriate action in line with policies and procedures.
  • Conduct home visits and estate inspections to maintain strong customer engagement.
  • Work in partnership with external agencies, including local authorities, support providers and the police, to resolve tenancy-related issues.
  • Prepare case files, witness statements and legal documentation where required.
  • Attend court hearings and represent the organisation where appropriate.
  • Promote tenancy compliance and provide advice on rights and responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate records and case notes using housing management systems.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with relevant legislation, policies and best practice.

Requirements:

  • Experience managing rent arrears and/or anti-social behaviour cases within a social housing environment.
  • Good knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy management and income recovery processes.
  • Experience working with vulnerable customers and providing tenancy sustainment support.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and housing management systems.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (where required).
