Our client

Morgan Hunt are working with a homelessness charity that provides accommodation and day support services to people who are homeless or in housing need. They offer a safe environment where people can develop their skills and independence to empower change.

We are looking to recruit a Housing Support Worker across their supported housing services in Oldham. This is a full time post working 37 hours per week and is temporary role. Working hours are Wednesday – Friday 12:00 – 20:00 and Saturday and Sunday 10am – 4pm.

The role

As a Housing Support Worker, you will be responsible for.

· Encouraging and assisting service users, via support plans, to develop themselves and their independence within the service or by moving on.

· Working in consultation with other members of the staff team and to liaise with the staff of other projects.

· Ensuring the upkeep and the security of the building and taking responsibility for any cash and equipment under your control.

· Carrying out regular key-working sessions with service users at the agreed period, to meet their individual needs and keep comprehensive records of all contacts made.

· Issuing warnings and taking appropriate action to promote the health, safety and welfare of all service users in line with policy and procedures.

· Supporting individuals in a way that is trauma informed and solution focused and promotes resilience.

· The efficient keeping of appropriate records including case notes, support plans, financial and administrative records.

The candidate

· Experience of supporting those experiencing homelessness and / or other vulnerabilities i.e poor mental health, substance misuse, offending behaviour.

· A flexible approach to work as you will be required to work between projects where needed.

· Experience of lone working within an accommodation-based service.

· Experience of managing a caseload, completing assessments and support plans to achieve positive outcomes.

· A good understanding of safeguarding and what to do if any safeguarding concerns arise.

· As a Project Worker you will need an Enhanced DBS on the update service.
