About the Role:
We are supporting a well-established civil engineering contractor in their search for a HR Advisor to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and experienced HR professional to provide expert guidance, support the existing HR team, and help drive HR best practice across the business.
Key Responsibilities as a HR Advisor:
- Managing end-to-end recruitment processes, from sourcing and attracting candidates through to pre-employment screening and onboarding, while supporting hiring managers via the ATS and coordinating with external agencies and applicants
- Overseeing the onboarding experience, including inductions and ensuring new starters are effectively integrated into the business
- Administering the offboarding process, ensuring all documentation is issued, exit interviews are completed, and records are accurately updated
- Assisting in the development, implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures across the organisation
- Providing day-to-day HR administrative support
- Maintaining HR compliance in line with GDPR requirements
- Supporting employee wellbeing initiatives, advising management, directing staff to the EAP where appropriate, and overseeing absence, sickness and holiday tracking systems
- Offering guidance to managers and employees on performance-related matters, ensuring accurate documentation is maintained
- Working closely with the HR Manager to foster strong relationships across the business, acting as a reliable point of contact and contributing to HR projects and strategic plans
- Carrying out any additional duties as required within the scope of the role
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a HR Advisor, preferably in construction, engineering, or a similar sector
- Confident in providing practical, solutions-focused advice to managers and employees
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent
