Senior HR Advisor (FTC/Contract)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join a busy HR team, supporting a period of high casework volume and organisational change. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on complex employee relations (ER), coaching junior team members, and supporting business change initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and resolve a range of complex ER cases end-to-end, including:
- Grievances
- Disciplinary processes
- Capability issues
- Absence management

Act as a subject matter expert on ER, providing guidance and oversight to two HR Advisors

Support and coach HR Advisors to develop capability and ensure best practice

Assist with restructures and organisational change, including supporting consultation processes

Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, providing clear, confident HR advice

Help manage and reduce a backlog of casework, particularly complex absence cases

Contribute to maintaining consistent HR policies, procedures, and compliance
Key Priorities (First Few Weeks)
- Supporting HR Advisors with ongoing casework
- Taking ownership of complex absence management cases
- Reducing and clearing the current casework backlog
Systems & Technology
- Current system: Select HR
- Future system: iTrent (MHR) (implementation planned for September 2026)
- Strong system aptitude is essential; candidates must be comfortable quickly learning new HR systems
About You
- Proven experience in a Senior HR Advisor / HR Generalist role
- Strong background in complex ER case management
- Experience supporting restructures and change management processes
- Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work at pace and manage competing priorities
- Experience coaching or mentoring junior HR team members
- Highly organised with attention to detail
