Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a high-volume volume manufacturer based in Bradford who are seeking an experienced and proactive Safety, Health & Environment Manager to lead and continuously improve Health, Safety, Environmental across a busy manufacturing site.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a key leadership role in developing a positive safety culture, ensuring legal compliance, driving continuous improvement, and supporting operational excellence across the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HSE professional who enjoys working collaboratively with managers and employees to create a safe, compliant and high-performing workplace.
As HSE Manager, duties & responsibilities include:
- Lead the company's Health, Safety and Environmental strategy.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant UK Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement effective control measures.
- Develop and maintain safe systems of work and operational procedures.
- Manage COSHH compliance and hazardous substance controls.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring compliance with RIDDOR requirements.
- Carry out regular workplace inspections and internal audits.
- Produce SHE performance reports, KPIs and improvement plans for senior management.
- Deliver health and safety training, toolbox talks and awareness campaigns.
- Coordinate emergency planning, fire safety arrangements and evacuation drills.
- Lead monthly Safety, Health, Environment & Quality meetings.
- Drive environmental initiatives including waste reduction, recycling and sustainability improvements.
- Support managers in identifying risks and implementing preventative actions.
- Promote a positive culture of continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
I'm keen to speak to HSE Manager's with the following skillset:
- NEBOSH Certificate
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
- Background in manufacturing environment
- Excellent risk assessment and accident investigation skills
- Strong report writing and presentation skills
- Good IT skills
- Ability to influence and engage colleagues at all levels
