Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in the Bridgwater area to recruit an engaging and knowledgeable Humanities Teacher, with a specialism in History.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and high-performing department on a long-term maternity cover, delivering inspiring lessons that bring history to life.

The Role

You will primarily teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to contribute to the wider Humanities curriculum.

The role will involve:

  • Delivering high-quality, engaging History lessons
  • Encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and discussion
  • Helping students draw connections between the past and modern society
  • Supporting students in developing strong analytical and evaluative skills
  • Contributing to a collaborative and successful Humanities department

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A creative, engaging, and resilient teaching style
  • A team-oriented mindset and willingness to contribute
  • A passion for Humanities and student development
  • A firm belief that every student can succeed

Please note: This role is not suitable for ECTs.
