The company is currently in the process of setting up its operations and is seeking talented Import Operator’s to join its team based at offices in Chelmsford, Essex.

Main Purpose of the Import Operator:

The Import Operator will play a key role in the company’s UK operations, ensuring the smooth, compliant, and efficient handling of inbound LCL shipments. This position requires a detail-oriented logistics professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering exceptional service to freight forwarding customers.

You will manage the full import cycle, maintain strong relationships with carriers and partners, and uphold the Company’s reputation for operational precision and reliability.

Key Responsibilities of the Import Operator:

  • Manage end-to-end import operations for LCL shipments arriving into the UK.
  • Coordinate with overseas offices and global agent partners to ensure accurate and timely cargo movement.
  • Arrange and monitor bookings with carriers, hauliers, and warehouse partners.
  • Track shipments proactively and communicate status updates to customers.
  • Other duties related to Documentation & Compliance, Customer & Partner Communication and Operational Administration

To Be Considered:

  • Proven experience gained in an import operations role, preferably within LCL logistics / freight forwarding.
  • Strong understanding of UK import procedures, customs regulations, and Incoterms.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software platforms.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Proactive, solutions-driven, and able to work under pressure.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
  • Professional, reliable, and aligned with Company’s values of integrity and efficiency.
