Job Title: Income Officer
Location: Warrington (Hybrid – 3 days from home, office-based Wednesday & Thursday)
Rate: £24.00 – £25.50 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Rolling contract (minimum 3 months)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Requirement: Full UK Driving Licence & access to a vehicle
The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Income Officer on behalf of a housing organisation based in Warrington. This is a hybrid role offering flexibility, with 3 days working from home and 2 days in the office.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with social housing experience who is confident managing rent arrears and undertaking pre-court actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of rent accounts in arrears, ensuring effective recovery of income
- Carry out pre-court work including issuing Letter 1s and Letter 2s
- Draft legal notices in line with policies and procedures
- Maintain regular contact with tenants via phone and email to negotiate repayment plans
- Monitor and review accounts, taking appropriate action to reduce arrears
- Accurately update housing management systems and maintain detailed records
- Work proactively to prevent escalation of arrears cases
Requirements
- Previous experience working as an Income Officer within social housing
- Strong knowledge of rent arrears recovery processes and pre-court procedures
- Experience drafting notices and handling tenancy-related correspondence
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage a busy caseload independently
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle
