Interim Risk and Insurance Manager
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6 months initially
Rate: Up to £600 per day (Inside IR35, Umbrella)
Location: Dudley (hybrid working)
This role will lead on the Council’s risk and insurance function, ensuring robust arrangements are in place to effectively manage corporate risk, oversee claims activity, and maintain appropriate insurance cover across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the Council’s risk and insurance function, ensuring effective controls and governance are in place
• Oversee the end-to-end management of insurance claims, ensuring they are processed efficiently and in a timely manner
• Review and maintain appropriate insurance arrangements, ensuring adequate coverage and value for money
• Manage and support the insurance and risk team, driving performance and service delivery
• Work closely with the Assistant Director – Audit, Risk and Assurance to further develop and embed the Council’s risk management framework
• Provide professional advice to senior stakeholders on risk exposure, mitigation strategies and insurance matters
This is a key role within the organisation, requiring someone with a strong background in local government risk and insurance, alongside experience operating at a strategic level and managing stakeholder relationships.
