Elevation Recruitment Group are supporting a well-established manufacturing business in Leeds as they look to appoint an experienced Financial Controller on a 9–12 month fixed-term contract.
Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a broad leadership role with responsibility for financial control, reporting, business partnering and driving improvements across the finance function. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting operational performance and providing robust financial insight to the wider business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Produce monthly management accounts, financial analysis and board reporting.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting and cashflow processes.
- Partner closely with operational and manufacturing teams to drive performance and profitability.
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Lead and develop the finance team.
- Support external audit requirements and statutory reporting.
- Drive process improvements across finance and reporting functions.
- Provide detailed costing and margin analysis to support commercial decision-making.
Key Skills:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Previous experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance leader within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of standard costing, product costing and manufacturing accounting.
- Experience partnering with operational stakeholders and supporting manufacturing sites.
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
