Syntro Partners is delighted to be partnering with a premium consumer brand to appoint an Interim Head of Finance on an initial three-month contract.
The business has recently appointed a new permanent Finance Director, who will be joining later in the year. As a result, they are seeking an experienced finance professional to provide leadership, stability and continuity to the finance function during the transition period.
This is not a strategic transformation role or an Interim FD assignment. Instead, we're looking for a hands-on, commercially minded individual who can quickly get under the skin of the business, support the existing team and ensure everything continues to run smoothly.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the day-to-day running of the finance function
- Leading and supporting a small finance team
- Ensuring robust financial controls and governance
- Managing month-end close and reporting processes
- Overseeing payment runs, cash management and working capital
- Acting as a key point of contact for the wider business during a period of transition
- Supporting and mentoring the existing finance team
- Delivering a smooth handover into the incoming permanent Finance Director
About You
To be successful in this role, you will likely be:
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Operating at Head of Finance, Financial Controller or Finance Director level within an SME environment
- Comfortable in a hands-on role and able to quickly establish credibility
- Calm, pragmatic and capable of bringing stability during periods of change
- Experienced within retail, fashion, consumer or ecommerce businesses (strongly preferred)
- Available to start no later than Monday 27th July 2026
