Octavius Finance has been exclusively retained by a leading long/short equity hedge fund to appoint an Investor Relations / Business Development professional to join its London-based team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established investment platform with a strong performance track record and ambitious growth plans. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, playing a key role in supporting capital raising initiatives, managing existing investor relationships, and helping expand the firm's institutional investor base.
The Role
Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and executing the firm's institutional fundraising strategy.
- Building and developing relationships with institutional investors, family offices, wealth managers, consultants, and other allocators.
- Managing prospective investors throughout the fundraising process, from initial engagement through to allocation.
- Maintaining strong relationships with existing investors, providing a high standard of ongoing client service.
- Working closely with the investment team to communicate portfolio performance, positioning, and investment strategy.
- Preparing and delivering high-quality marketing materials, presentations, and responses to investor due diligence requests.
- Representing the firm at investor meetings, conferences, and industry events.
Candidate Profile
We are looking to speak with professionals who have:
- 6-12 years of experience in Investor Relations, Business Development, Capital Raising, or Institutional Sales within a hedge fund, alternative asset manager, or broader investment management business.
- Experience working with institutional investors, family offices, consultants, or private wealth channels.
- A strong understanding of long/short equity strategies and the broader hedge fund landscape.
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to engage sophisticated investors.
- A commercial mindset with a genuine interest in helping grow a successful investment business.
- The ambition to develop into a senior fundraising professional within a high-performing organisation.
