The Opportunity
The client is seeking a highly capable and motivated individual with a genuine interest in building a career within the hedge fund industry.
This role offers a rare opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals and gain hands-on exposure to trading, analytics, and operational functions from an early stage. Given the size of the team, the individual will have the ability to make a tangible impact from day one while gaining broad insight into the day-to-day workings of a commodities-focused hedge fund.
Key ResponsibilitiesTrading Analytics
- Maintain and enhance trading analytics, tools, and models.
- Improve data pipelines, infrastructure, and analytics workflows.
- Support the development and deployment of quantitative trading strategies.
- Assist with market data analysis and reporting.
Operations
- Run and monitor key operational processes, including:
- Daily reconciliations and investigation of trade breaks.
- End-of-month investor reporting.
- Liaison with brokers, counterparties, administrators, and other service providers.
- Respond to operational queries and resolve issues efficiently.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement automation solutions.
Skills & ExperienceCore Requirements
- Strong Python development skills.
- Experience building or working with data pipelines and workflows.
- Basic SQL knowledge.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- A proactive and hardworking approach.
- Up to two years' professional experience using Python.
Desirable
- Interest in, or exposure to, commodity, power, or gas markets.
- Experience within trading, analytics, or modelling environments.
- Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS.
