KS1 Class Teacher

We are working with a welcoming and well-established primary school in Gateshead that is seeking a dedicated Key Stage 1 Teacher to join their team from September 2026 on a full-time, long-term basis.

This friendly primary school has approximately 310 pupils on roll and serves a diverse local community. The school has a strong reputation for nurturing both academic achievement and personal development, with a clear focus on ensuring every child feels valued, safe and supported.

The Role

You will take responsibility for a Key Stage 1 class and work closely with an experienced teaching assistant and the wider KS1 team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum

  • Creating a calm, positive and inclusive classroom environment

  • Supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development

  • Assessing progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs

  • Building strong relationships with parents, carers and colleagues

  • Contributing to the wider life of the school community

Working Pattern

  • Start Date – September 2026

  • Contract – Full-time (term time only)

  • Hours – 8:30am – 3:30pm
