Employment Lawyer (Locum – Tribunal Litigation Focus)
Hybrid – 1 day per week in office (Perceval House)
£50-£60 per hour (Umbrella)

We're looking for a confident, experienced Employment Lawyer to step into a fast-paced, high-impact role supporting our Legal Services team.
This is a hands-on litigation role – you'll be managing tribunal cases from day one, attending hearings, and providing clear, practical advice across the organisation. If you enjoy autonomy, complex caseloads, and being trusted to deliver – this role is for you.
What you'll be doing
- Running a busy employment tribunal caseload from start to finish
- Representing the organisation at tribunal hearings (mainly short hearings)
- Providing straightforward, pragmatic advice to managers, schools, and academies
- Supporting on policy, drafting and compliance work (including Employment Rights developments)
- Handling sensitive and complex matters with confidence and professionalism
What we're looking for
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive (England & Wales)
- Strong experience in employment tribunal litigation
- Confident advocate (or willing to undertake advocacy)
- Able to work independently and prioritise effectively
- Ideally experienced working with local authorities, schools, or public bodies
- Available to start immediately or at short notice

Working pattern
