Teaching Assistant – SEMH School

Chatham

Start: Immediate

Full-time

Are you the kind of person who can turn a tough morning into a turning point? Do you have the patience of a saint, the creativity of an artist, and the humour of someone who knows that no two days in a school are ever the same? Then this SEMH school in Chatham would love to have you on their team!

A warm, supportive SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) secondary school is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join them from after Easter until July.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting students with SEMH needs in the classroom, encouraging engagement and confidence.
  • Helping deliver lessons, activities, and interventions that make learning feel achievable and enjoyable.
  • Building meaningful relationships with pupils who need consistency, care, and a friendly face.
  • Teaming up with teachers and support staff to create a positive, safe learning environment.

They’d love someone who:

  • Is patient, nurturing, and genuinely passionate about helping young people thrive.
  • Isn’t fazed by a challenge — in fact, you embrace them with a smile!
  • Can adapt, think on their feet, and bring calm energy to the classroom.
  • Has experience with SEMH… or is excited to learn with an open mind and a supportive team.

What you’ll get:

  • A heartfelt, rewarding role where your support truly matters.
  • A friendly team who appreciate positivity, teamwork, and the occasional biscuit break.
  • Fantastic experience in a specialist SEMH setting — perfect for developing your skills.
  • The chance to make a real difference every single day.
