Learning Support Assistant
Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to support pupils in schools across the Winchester area. This role involves working alongside teachers and support staff to help pupils access learning, develop confidence, and remain engaged throughout the school day.
You will provide a mix of 1:1 support and small-group assistance, helping pupils who may benefit from additional guidance with their learning, organisation, behaviour, or overall classroom engagement. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone looking to make a positive impact in education.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 support and assist with small-group learning activities
- Support pupils during lessons, breaktimes, and transitions where required
- Help pupils remain focused, engaged, and confident in their learning
- Assist teachers with classroom preparation and learning resources
- Encourage positive behaviour and learning routines
- Build supportive relationships with pupils and staff
- Promote an inclusive and positive classroom environment
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children or young people
- Patient, supportive, and approachable manner
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptable and responsive to different pupil needs
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Backgrounds in childcare, youth work, coaching, or education welcomed
- Graduates looking to gain school experience encouraged to apply
Contract Details:
- Position: Learning Support Assistant
- Location: Winchester
- Start Date: ASAP
- Working Pattern: Full-time, term-time
- Pay Rate:£14.25 – £15.66 per hour
- Key Stages: Primary / Secondary
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
- Experience working with children desirable
- SEN experience beneficial but not essential
- Safeguarding training can be provided
