Learning Support Assistant – Burgess Hill
Full-Time | September 2026 Start
Engage Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive school in the Burgess Hill area to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant for a full-time position starting in September 2026.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support for pupils, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and succeed both academically and personally.
About the role:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups across the school
- Assisting children with a range of learning needs to access the curriculum
- Working alongside class teachers to deliver targeted interventions
- Supporting literacy, numeracy, and classroom-based learning activities
- Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
- Helping to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
- Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and personal development
- Assisting with classroom preparation and learning resources
About you:
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Previous experience in education, childcare, care, youth work, or mentoring is beneficial
- Patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach
- Able to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Flexible and able to adapt to the individual needs of pupils
- Passionate about supporting children's learning and development
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
