Location: Hampshire

Salary: £32,896 – £41,592 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Contract: Full Time, Permanent (37 hours per week)

A leading Further Education provider in the South of England is seeking a Lecturer in Painting & Decorating and Multi-Skills to deliver engaging, practical teaching to learners preparing for careers in the construction industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for an industry professional looking to move into education, or an experienced lecturer seeking a new challenge within a supportive and well-resourced environment.

The Role

You will deliver high-quality teaching across Painting & Decorating and Multi-Skills programmes, helping learners develop the practical skills, knowledge and confidence required to progress into employment or apprenticeships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering engaging classroom and workshop-based teaching
  • Planning, preparing and assessing learning activities
  • Providing academic and pastoral support to learners
  • Acting as a Personal Tutor where required
  • Monitoring learner progress and providing constructive feedback
  • Supporting student induction and learner retention
  • Organising and supporting industry work placement opportunities
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety within workshop environments
  • Contributing to curriculum development and continuous improvement activities

What We're Looking For

  • Industry experience in Painting & Decorating
  • Experience across additional construction trades such as plastering, carpentry, brickwork or general maintenance would be advantageous
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or equivalent
  • Level 4 qualification in a relevant trade area (or willingness to achieve)
  • Teaching qualification at Level 5 (or willingness to achieve)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Passion for supporting and developing learners

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary of £32,896 – £41,592 per annum
  • Full-time permanent position (37 hours per week)
