My client a top international law firm are seeking a dedicated Legal Cashier to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is crucial for handling routine cash transactions while ensuring compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules. The successful candidate will focus on managing Client account funds and maintaining high standards of reliability and service quality.
Day-to-day of the role:
Ensure all Client account transactions comply with the SRA Accounts Rules.
Process and post Client account CHAPS/SWIFT/Faster receipts and payments across various banking platforms including RBS, BOS, HSBC, and Barclays.
Conduct regular checks on Client accounts to prevent residual balances.
Manage and review weekly reports to assist with general housekeeping of matters and report any potential COFA breaches.
Coordinate with Fee Earning departments for the timely return of funds as per the Weekly Client Residual Balance Report.
Provide cover for the Bank Reconciliation role and monitor the Cashiers Mailbox, responding to queries promptly.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience in a cashiering environment within the legal sector.
Strong understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
Confidence in dealing with partners and discussing file-related issues.
Ability to prioritize tasks, especially under tight deadlines.
Methodical approach to work with a strong focus on accuracy.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and familiarity with Elite 3E
Knowledge of banking systems such as RBS Bankline, HSBC.net, and Barclays.net.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to interact positively at all levels within the firm and work as part of a team.
Flexibility to work additional hours at month, quarter, and year ends.
