This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Cashier to join an impressive Law firm based in the city. The role reports into an experienced Legal Cashier Manager and is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to move into a culture driven and social finance team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Processing and reconciling office and client bank accounts in accordance with SRA Accounts Rules
- Preparing and posting client receipts and electronic payments
- Managing credit card postings and performing reconciliations
- Processing supplier invoices and administering employee expense claims
- Supporting disbursement activities, including counsel fees, Companies House filings, Land Registry submissions, and property searches
- Calculating and applying client interest
- Assisting with working capital management, including write-offs, disbursement control, and credit note requests
- Contributing to the preparation of financial reports, including cost analysis and residual balance summaries
- Supporting external audit processes and preparation requirements
- Acting as a point of contact for finance-related queries from lawyers, partners, and internal stakeholders
- Providing general support to the wider Finance team and Finance Director
What you'll need experience in
- A minimum of 3 years' legal cashiering experience within a law firm
- Strong working knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules, including client and office accounts, as well as AML regulations
- Solid understanding of VAT within a legal or professional services environment
- Experience using legal accounting systems and electronic banking platforms
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Excellent numerical accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Confident in engaging with partners and senior stakeholders, including the ability to challenge processes where appropriate
