Legal Secretary – Property
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Secretary to join a busy in-house property legal team, providing high-level administrative and legal support to fee earners working on a varied caseload of property and commercial matters.
This is a fast-paced, office-based role suited to someone who thrives in a structured legal environment and enjoys being a key support to senior lawyers.
The Role
You will play a central role in supporting lawyers across the team, ensuring work is delivered efficiently, accurately and to a high standard. Responsibilities include:
- Providing full secretarial support including diary management and coordination
- Preparing, formatting and proof-reading legal documents and correspondence
- Managing files and ensuring accurate record keeping and audit trails
- Assisting with Land Registry applications, SDLT forms and property searches
- Conducting legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw
- Producing and editing documents, including PDF management
- Supporting with engrossments and document execution processes
- Acting as a first point of contact for internal queries and maintaining excellent client care
- Supporting ad hoc projects and wider team administrative needs
About You
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within property or real estate
- Strong document production and formatting skills with excellent attention to detail
- Experience supporting multiple fee earners in a busy legal environment
- Confident using Microsoft Office and legal document systems
- Familiarity with legal research tools (e.g. LexisNexis, Westlaw)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Proactive, adaptable and able to work independently and as part of a team
