About the Childcare Advocate position:
Our client, a Local Authority based in the home counties is seeking a Childcare Advocate on a locum basis, to join their friendly and supportive Legal Services team.
The successful candidate will be predominantly court based with attendance expected to be around 2-3 times a week. The role will also involve holding your own small caseload alongside.
This position is anticipated to be ongoing for at least 3-6 months.
Responsibilities of the Childcare Advocate:
- To act as an advocate on behalf of the Council primarily in relation to childcare and related court proceedings, and also in other proceedings as required
- Provide advocacy for case management hearings and/or short contested hearings
Experience required for the Childcare Advocate:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive
- Experience of legal practice in public childcare law including advocacy experience, in contested hearings
