Job Opportunity: Logistics Manager / Banksman
Location: Macclesfield, SK10
Hours: 7:30am-4:00pm (Occasional 7am starts / 5pm finishes)
Start Date: Monday 6th July
End Date: September 2026
PPE Required: High-vis, Hard Hat, Safety Boots
Reporting To: Project Manager
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager/Banksman to oversee safe, efficient, and compliant site logistics across a multi-site operation in Macclesfield.
You will work closely with the Project Manager and site teams to ensure smooth daily operations, controlled vehicle movements, and a safe environment for staff, visitors, and the public.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Site & Access Control
- Managing a tenanted building and ensuring visitors do not access restricted areas
- Allowing emergency vehicle access at all times
- Safe opening and locking of site entrances
- Vigilant monitoring of the general public around site boundaries
Traffic & Vehicle Management
- Full traffic management across 3 active sites
- Directing and controlling vehicle movements as the designated Banksman
- Ensuring clear communication via two-way radio
- Planning safe and efficient transport routes
Logistics & Deliveries
- Receiving, checking, and debriefing all deliveries
- Managing the safe movement of materials across sites
- Updating records and logs via iPad
- Coordinating with site managers and the PM to maintain workflow
Safety & Compliance
- Daily reporting and communication with management
- Monitoring site safety and identifying hazards
- Ensuring full health & safety compliance at all times
- Maintaining secure, controlled access to all areas
Ideal Candidate
- Experienced in logistics coordination and/or banksman duties
- Confident using radios and digital reporting tools
- Strong awareness of safety, traffic flow, and public interface
- Reliable, proactive, and able to manage multiple sites simultaneously
