An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Indirect Tax Assistant to join a growing tax function within a dynamic and international organisation.
Working as part of a specialist tax team, you will support the preparation of international VAT returns and reconciliations across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance obligations are met accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and submission of international VAT returns and reconciliations across multiple territories.
- Ensure VAT compliance activities are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Investigate, analyse and explain variances within VAT reporting processes, identifying root causes and supporting resolutions.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to gather, validate and maintain information required for indirect tax reporting.
- Assist with the development and enhancement of VAT compliance processes and controls.
- Support process improvement initiatives designed to increase efficiency, accuracy and scalability within the tax function.
- Produce and maintain process documentation, procedures and supporting working papers.
- Assist with the implementation of operational improvements and best practice across tax reporting activities.
- Escalate risks, issues and compliance concerns appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Support wider finance and tax projects as required.
Candidate ProfileEssential
- Previous experience within a tax, finance, accounting or compliance environment.
- Understanding of VAT principles and indirect tax compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational capability.
- Ability to investigate discrepancies and deliver practical solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Strong data analysis and reconciliation skills.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience working with large datasets and financial information.
- Ability to input, analyse and interpret data accurately.
- Experience identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
