Liability Adjuster Major/Complex
Location: Bristol – Hybrid
Salary: to c£55,000 (negotiable on experience)
We’re partnering with one of the UK’s largest independently owned loss adjusting companies, and due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Complex / Major Liability Adjuster to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong adjuster who thrives on handling high-value and complex Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims and enjoys taking ownership of cases from investigation through to resolution.
You’ll be working within a collaborative and supportive environment, managing a varied caseload of complex and litigated claims, while building strong relationships with clients, insurers, solicitors, and other key stakeholders. This role offers a high level of autonomy and the opportunity to further develop your technical expertise within a well-respected organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of complex and high-value claims from notification through to settlement
- Lead detailed investigations into liability, quantum, and policy coverage
- Set, review, and manage reserves in line with claim exposure
- Develop and drive claim strategies to achieve efficient and cost-effective outcomes
- Handle litigated claims, working closely with solicitors, experts, and insurers
- Identify and investigate potentially fraudulent or exaggerated claims
- Negotiate robustly to secure the best possible settlements
- Maintain accurate and compliant file records

Requirements

Proven experience handling complex/major liability claims
- Strong technical knowledge of liability, quantum, and relevant case law
- Proven experience managing reserves and claim strategy
- Background within a loss adjusting firm, insurer, or legal environment

Experience working with solicitors, insurers, and third-party stakeholders
