This Ossett-based manufacturer is looking for a part-qualified Management Accountant to join its finance team and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the business.

This isn't a role where you'll spend all day producing reports in isolation. You'll work closely with operational teams, get involved in the detail behind the numbers, and take ownership of a varied workload that spans management accounts, stock accounting, payroll, forecasting and business support.

The role:

Working as part of an established finance team, you'll take responsibility for the monthly management accounts process while supporting the wider business with accurate financial information and analysis.

Key duties will include:

• Producing monthly management accounts and supporting financial reporting
• Managing stock reconciliations and stock movement accounting
• Reviewing journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Investigating variances against budget and previous periods
• Preparing VAT returns and supporting compliance activities
• Assisting with cashflow forecasting and financial planning
• Supporting year-end accounts preparation and external audits
• Processing payroll for approximately 110 employees
• Working closely with operational managers to understand business performance
• Producing ad hoc financial reports and analysis
• Supporting the development of a junior finance team member
• Acting as a key user of the company's ERP system

About you:

To be considered, you'll need previous experience within a manufacturing environment and a solid understanding of stock accounting and inventory controls.

You'll also have:

• Experience assisting with or producing management accounts
• Strong month-end and balance sheet reconciliation experience
• Good analytical skills and attention to detail
• The confidence to communicate with stakeholders across the business
• A proactive approach and willingness to get involved in operational finance matters
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Active studies towards CIMA or ACCA, or equivalent experience
