Marine Cargo Underwriter
City of London | Hybrid | Circa £65,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits
Eames are partnered with a highly respected insurer looking to hire a Marine Cargo Underwriter into their London team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a lean, stable, and progressive underwriting team where you will have genuine exposure to decision making, broker development, and portfolio management, rather than being a small cog in a large machine.
Working closely with the lead underwriter and leadership, you will be responsible for underwriting a diverse portfolio of UK & EU Marine Cargo business, developing broker relationships, and contributing to the continued growth and profitability of the account.
Key responsibilities include: • Underwriting new business and renewals across Marine Cargo risks, including Stock Throughput business • Developing and managing broker relationships across the London Market • Assessing risk, determining pricing, and negotiating terms within authority • Monitoring portfolio performance and profitability • Supporting business development and market engagement activities • Working closely with senior stakeholders on underwriting strategy and growth initiatives
The ideal candidate will have experience underwriting Marine Cargo business, strong commercial awareness, and the confidence to build lasting broker relationships. My client may also consider an Assistant Underwriter stepping up.
