Our client, a leading proprietary trading firm is looking for a Python Developer in London to support their market data optimisation function. Sitting within a lean, high-impact team that works closely with trading desks, quant researchers, and data engineering, the role focuses on building and scaling data tooling, improving data pipelines, and driving automation across market data workflows, with significant exposure to AI/LLM-driven solutions and proactive dataset management.
Responsibilities;
- Build and maintain a centralised market data catalogue and inventory across the firm
- Standardise and integrate datasets from multiple vendors into clean, consistent formats
- Design and implement automated solutions to improve data workflows and efficiency
- Develop tooling, dashboards, and monitoring for data usage, performance, and cost tracking
- Partner with trading, quant, and engineering teams to enhance data accessibility and utilisation
Requirements:
- 3-8 years' experience in market data, data engineering, or data operations within financial services
- Strong Python and SQL skills with experience working on data pipelines and integration
- Understanding of market data structures, vendor datasets, and data workflows
- Experience with data catalogues, analytics/dashboarding tools, and automation frameworks
- Exposure to AI/LLM tools applied to workflow improvement or data analysis
