We are working with a fast-growing manufacturing and distribution operation to recruit a Material Specialist to support high-volume warehouse and production activity within a fast-paced, time-critical environment.
This role sits within a warehouse and distribution function and plays a key part in ensuring raw materials and components are received, stored, prepared, and delivered accurately to production lines. You will support Goods In, Processing, and Production teams by moving critical materials through the site, ensuring stock integrity, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency. The role operates on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern covering both days and nights (12-hour shifts).
Key Responsibilities
- Operate material handling equipment (including forklifts and pallet trucks) to safely load, unload, and move stock
- Pick, assemble, and stage raw materials for production
- Supply and return components to and from production areas in line with operational demand
- Ensure accurate stock handling from receipt through storage to consumption using warehouse systems
- Verify product integrity, batch details, and labelling accuracy, escalating discrepancies where required
- Support production and processing teams by ensuring timely and accurate material availability
- Carry out loading/unloading activities, including checking load security and booking stock into systems
- Assist with stock checks, cycle counts, and inventory control activities
- Manage waste, recycling, and returnable packaging processes
- Maintain clean, organised, and safe working areas at all times
- Complete all required documentation accurately and in line with procedures
- Follow all health, safety, food safety, and quality procedures and challenge non-compliance
Key Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Goods In or warehouse role within a fast-paced environment
- Valid and in-date reach truck and counterbalance forklift licences (essential)
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems and stock control processes
- High attention to detail, particularly around batch control, traceability, and stock accuracy
- Confident working independently and within time-sensitive operational windows
- Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with production and warehouse teams
- Competent IT skills and ability to work with digital systems and paperwork accurately
- Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks, including lifting up to 20kg and extended periods of standing
