Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited
Your new company You will be joining a leading organisation within the automotive manufacturing sector, operating in a fast-paced, just-in-time production environment. The business is recognised for delivering high-quality components to major OEMs and operates to rigorous industry standards, including ISO and IATF requirements. With a strong focus on operational performance, efficiency and continuous improvement, the organisation offers a collaborative environment where supply chain and manufacturing teams work closely to meet evolving customer demand.
Your new role As MP&L Manager, you will take full responsibility for the materials planning and logistics function within the plant, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. You will lead all aspects of materials management, including production planning, inventory control, forecasting, and delivery performance. The role will see you working closely with operations to develop and adjust production schedules in line with customer releases, ensuring material availability aligns with a high-volume, just-in-time manufacturing environment.
You will oversee MRP planning to ensure customer expectations are met at optimal cost, while proactively identifying risks, waste and inefficiencies within the supply chain. Managing inventory accuracy through cycle counting and controls will form a critical part of your remit, alongside maintaining compliance with automotive quality standards and regulatory requirements. You will also take ownership of materials procedures across the plant and play a central role in programme launches, ensuring readiness from a logistics and planning perspective.
What you'll need to succeed To succeed in this role, you will bring strong experience in materials planning, logistics or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment, ideally automotive or similarly fast-paced production settings. You will have a proven track record of managing MRP systems, production planning and inventory control, with a clear understanding of just-in-time principles and customer-driven scheduling. Experience working with ISO or IATF standards, alongside customer-specific requirements, will be highly beneficial.
You will be an effective leader, capable of working cross-functionally with operations teams to deliver results while maintaining high standards of compliance and performance. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail will be essential, particularly in forecasting, inventory management and identifying improvement opportunities across materials processes.
What you'll get in return In return, you will secure a senior-level MP&L leadership position offering broad responsibility across planning, logistics and materials functions within a well-established manufacturing operation. You will have the opportunity to influence operational performance, contribute to key business initiatives and play a leading role in programme launches and continuous improvement activities.
The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package aligned to senior supply chain roles within the manufacturing sector, alongside the opportunity to progress your career within a structured and performance-driven environment.
This organisation is committed to creating an inclusive workplace and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified individuals, regardless of background or personal circumstances.
