Mechanical Assembly Technician
Location: Norfolk, United Kingdom
Salary: £33,500.00 p.a.
Are you a skilled Mechanical Assembly Technician looking to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business? Our client is seeking a practical and detail-oriented individual to support the assembly of complex mechanical equipment and systems.
Responsibilities:
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
- Assembling mechanical components and sub-assemblies to build larger, more complex units.
- Collecting and preparing materials, components, and equipment required for assembly activities.
- Taking accurate measurements to ensure components meet required specifications and tolerances.
- Modifying and fitting components where required to achieve correct assembly standards.
- Inspecting completed assemblies to ensure quality and functionality.
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order.
- Recording production information and reporting any faults, defects, or quality concerns.
- Following established assembly procedures and health and safety requirements at all times.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a mechanical assembly, fitter, or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Competent in the use of hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment.
- Good understanding of quality control and inspection processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Physically capable of working within a manufacturing environment.
- HNC, HND, apprenticeship, or relevant engineering qualification would be advantageous.
