Are you a Mechanical Fitter with experience working on substations, switchgear, or heavy industrial equipment, looking to join a growing business delivering major high-voltage infrastructure projects across the UK?

This company is a specialist in high-voltage infrastructure, delivering installation, refurbishment, and commissioning projects nationwide. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Mechanical Fitter to strengthen their installation team.
In this role, you will carry out the mechanical installation, assembly, refurbishment, and maintenance of AIS and GIS substation equipment up to 132kV. You'll work on circuit breakers, disconnectors, transformers, support structures, and associated plant, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
The role involves nationwide travel and regular overnight stays, with all accommodation and expenses covered.
This role would suit a Mechanical Fitter with experience in substations, switchgear, heavy plant, power generation, industrial engineering, or similar mechanical installation environments, who is looking for long-term career development within the HV industry.
The Role:
- Mechanical installation and assembly of AIS and GIS substation equipment up to 132kV
- Install, maintain, and refurbish transformers, switchgear, disconnectors, support structures, and associated plant
- Work alongside commissioning engineers during installation and energisation activities
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures and project specifications
- Nationwide travel with regular overnight stays (all accommodation and expenses provided)
The Person:
- Mechanical Fitter with experience in substations, switchgear, power generation, heavy engineering, or similar industrial environments
- Comfortable travelling nationwide and staying away from home during the working week
- Full UK Driving Licence
