Mechanical Technician

Due to continued expansion we're recruiting a Mechanical Technician to join a well-established engineering team working on specialist subsea equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical background who enjoys assembly, testing, and problem-solving in a high-quality manufacturing environment.
What's on Offer?
37-hour working week
Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 4:30pm
Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm

Excellent overtime rates:
- Time and a half Monday to Saturday
- Double time on Sundays
- Overtime paid after 37 hours worked
The Role
As a Mechanical Technician, you'll be involved in the assembly, testing, and commissioning of advanced mechanical and hydraulic equipment used in demanding subsea environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assembling mechanical and hydraulic components, sub-assemblies, and complete assemblies
- Mechanical assembly and load testing of subsea products
- Manufacturing and testing hydraulic hoses and pipework
- Pressure testing, setup, and functional testing of a wide range of tooling and assemblies
- Working closely with other departments to ensure quality standards and project deadlines are achieved
- Completing all relevant documentation, including quality records, timesheets, NCRs, and ECNs
About You
We're keen to hear from candidates who have:
- A background in mechanical assembly, fitting, or maintenance
- Experience as an automotive mechanic, vehicle technician, or similar hands-on engineering role
- A solid understanding of mechanical engineering practices and assembly techniques
- Completed a mechanical apprenticeship or have equivalent shop-floor engineering experience
- A strong focus on quality, safety, and attention to detail
