Merger Project Coordinator (Education Sector)
Location: South East
Duration: 6-12 month Contract Opportunity
Rate: £375-425 per day
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Merger Project Coordinator to support a major strategic merger programme between two higher education institutions.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a high-profile transformation programme, supporting senior stakeholders across both organisations as they work towards a successful integration.
Working as part of the merger programme team, you will provide critical coordination, governance and administrative support, helping to ensure project activities remain on track and that key information is accurately managed throughout the transaction process.
The Role
You will provide day-to-day support to the merger programme and act as a central point of coordination across multiple workstreams.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the delivery of the university merger programme and associated workstreams
- Coordinating and supporting due diligence activities across both organisations
- Managing and maintaining the transaction data room, ensuring documentation is accurate, complete and appropriately controlled
- Tracking and responding to due diligence requests from internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinating meetings, governance forums, steering groups and project boards
- Tracking actions, risks, issues and dependencies across the programme
- Preparing project documentation, reports, presentations and status updates
- Maintaining project plans and ensuring deadlines and milestones are monitored
- Supporting communication and engagement activities across both institutions
- Working closely with programme leaders, legal advisors, consultants and senior stakeholders throughout the transaction process
About You
We are looking for an experienced project support professional who thrives in fast-paced and complex environments.
You will ideally have:
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, integrations, corporate transactions or large-scale transformation programmes
- Experience coordinating due diligence activities and managing document requests
- Experience maintaining data rooms, document repositories or transaction management systems
- Strong project coordination, governance and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Experience producing project reports, presentations and management information
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines
- Experience within Higher Education, Professional Services, Consulting, Legal, Corporate Finance or M&A environments would be highly advantageous
