Middleweight Interior Designer
Location: Chelmsford
Salary: £29-33,000
I am looking for a creative and motivated Middleweight Interior Designer to become part of a friendly and supportive team based in Chelmsford. This established practice delivers high-quality interior design projects across the hospitality, residential and healthcare sectors, creating thoughtful, bespoke spaces tailored to each client's needs. With a strong reputation in the industry, they are committed to providing an exceptional service and developing lasting client partnerships.
On Offer:
- Friendly and collaborative office environment with a team of around 15 people.
- Full-time, office-based position, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.
- Four weeks' annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Additional paid leave between Christmas and New Year.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and contribute to interior design projects from initial concept through to completion.
- Create inspiring design concepts and produce engaging presentations for client approval.
- Prepare detailed technical drawing packages, including plans, elevations, sections and bespoke joinery drawings.
- Develop FF&E schedules, source suitable products and obtain supplier quotations.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers to ensure projects run smoothly.
- Attend site visits and project meetings, addressing design queries and monitoring progress.
- Carry out snagging inspections and assist with the successful completion of projects.
- Stay informed of industry trends, new materials, legislation and best practice.
Requirements
- Previous experience within commercial interior design.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating experience within hospitality, workplace and/or hotel projects.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Experience with rendering software would be beneficial.
- Excellent design flair, space planning ability and technical detailing skills.
- Confident presenting design concepts and building strong client relationships.
- Good knowledge of FF&E specification, material sourcing and supplier coordination.
- Strong organisational, communication and time management skills, along with a full UK driving licence.
