We are currently working with a well-established food manufacturing business in the Bedale area who is looking to recruit a Mixing Room Operative to join their production team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced food production environment and takes pride in producing high-quality products.

The Role

As a Mixing Operative, you will be responsible for following recipes, operating machinery and accurately mixing and blending raw ingredients, spices and other food components in line with strict specifications and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain a clean, tidy and organised mixing room.
  • Follow recipes accurately to ensure all mixes meet product specifications.
  • Record batch codes and complete all relevant production paperwork.
  • Ensure all batches are correctly labelled and fully traceable.
  • Follow all company procedures, food safety and health & safety requirements.
  • Maintain strict segregation of ingredients (meat species, vegetarian products and allergens).
  • Wear correct colour-coded PPE depending on product area.
  • Complete quality checks and production documentation accurately.
  • Report any equipment issues or concerns to the line manager promptly.
  • Take responsibility for issued tools, including knives, ensuring safe handling and storage.

About You

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a food production environment.
  • Comfortable working in a chilled environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within a mixing room in food production.
  • Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and health & safety regulations.

Key Performance Measures

  • Output levels achieved per shift, meeting or exceeding production targets.
  • Product quality, with minimal defects or rework required.
  • Efficient use of materials with minimal waste.
  • Ability to consistently meet production deadlines.
  • This is an important role within the production team, ensuring high-quality products are produced safely, accurately and efficiently.

Shift Pattern

  • 7:00 AM until finish
  • Working pattern: 4 on, 2 off rotating shift pattern, operating seven days per week.
