Mobile/Bench Engineer MultiskilledThe Role
We’re looking for a Mobile/Bench Engineer Multiskilled to join the team, supporting multiple client sites across the region. This is a field-based role where travel is a core part of the position, so flexibility and the ability to work across different locations is essential.
You’ll be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring client assets are maintained safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The role will involve fault finding, repairs, plant maintenance, compliance tasks, and supporting the day-to-day operation of building services systems.
Working closely with the wider engineering and contract teams, you’ll play a key role in maintaining safe, compliant, and fully operational environments for clients and end users.
Key Responsibilities

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across mechanical and electrical systems

Maintaining and repairing HVAC, lighting, water, ventilation, and associated building services systems

Fault finding on mechanical and electrical equipment, including responding to BMS alarms and first-line diagnostics

Completing maintenance records, compliance documentation, and logbooks accurately through simPRO

Supporting statutory planned maintenance and escalating issues where completion is not possible

Monitoring subcontractors on site and reviewing work standards

Maintaining plant rooms and work areas to a clean, safe, and compliant standard

Carrying out small installation works and general building services maintenance tasks

Communicating effectively with clients, end users, and internal teams

Reporting hazards, plant issues, or risks to management immediately

Supporting safe systems of work, isolations, and confirming systems are safe to work on

Working collaboratively with engineering teams to maintain high service standards across all sites
Qualifications & ExperienceEssential
-
Electrical City & Guilds/NVQ Part 3 (or equivalent building services qualification)

Previous experience within Building Services / M&E maintenance

Good understanding of safe working practices and Electricity at Work Regulations

Experience carrying out maintenance, testing, and fault finding across a range of building services equipment

Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach

Full UK driving licence

Unvented Hot Water Systems training

Experience with BMS, generators, controls, lighting, plumbing, drainage, ventilation, LPHW systems, and pressurisation systems

High Voltage experience/certification
Team Structure & Support
You’ll be supported by a team led by Contract Support and the Supervisor, with additional escalation and operational support available via the Regional Director. The wider engineering team works collaboratively to ensure engineers have the support needed across all client sites.
Training & Progression
