Multi-Skilled Engineering Technician
Shift Pattern: Days & Nights – Monday to Friday

Location: Commutable from Chigwell, Brentwood, Harlow, Chelmsford and Enfield
The Role
We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineering Technician to support the maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement of production and site equipment. You will help maximise equipment uptime, minimise downtime, ensure compliance with safety standards, and support engineering projects across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment faults to minimise production downtime.
- Conduct inspections and compliance checks on plant and equipment.
- Support engineering projects, equipment installations, and commissioning activities.
- Maintain accurate records using a CMMS system.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and OEE.
- Support health and safety activities, including risk assessments and permit-to-work procedures.
- Liaise with suppliers and equipment manufacturers to resolve technical issues.
- Provide technical support and training to operational teams.
Requirements
- HNC or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Knowledge of CMMS systems and Building Management Systems (BMS).
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and/or Inspection & Testing qualifications.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, SMED or Six Sigma would be advantageous.
