Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer – Skelmersdale
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our well-established client based in Skelmersdale on a temporary ongoing basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. This is a fantastic opportunity offering £26.55 per hour, ongoing work, and the chance to join a progressive manufacturing business.
This role would suit candidates with experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or Shift Engineer.
Shifts
• Week 1: Monday – Thursday: 18:00 – 06:00 • Week 2: • Monday – Wednesday: 06:00 – 18:00 (Thursday off) • Friday – Sunday: 18:00 – 06:00 • Week 3: Thursday – Sunday: 06:00 – 18:00 • Week 4: OFF
Rates of Pay
• £26.55 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, your duties will include:
• Providing mechanical and electrical maintenance support in line with production requirements • Maintaining site services and facilities to minimise downtime • Completing planned preventative and reactive maintenance on plant and machinery • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment • Ensuring compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Systems of Work • Following isolation and lockout procedures at all times • Maintaining equipment in line with preventative maintenance schedules • Ensuring maintenance areas are kept clean, organised, and safe • Responding promptly to breakdowns and restoring equipment efficiently • Working in accordance with all Health and Safety legislation
Essential Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A time-served multi-skilled engineering apprenticeship • A recognised electrical qualification • An HNC (or equivalent) in a manufacturing or engineering discipline • Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities • A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement
Desirable Experience
• Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment • Available for an immediate start
Training Provided
• Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
