Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer (Night Shifts)

The Role
- An established manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Night Shift Maintenance Engineer to support a high-precision production environment.
- The role is fully nights and plays a key part in ensuring machinery reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement across site.
- This is a hands-on position suited to an engineer comfortable working autonomously on nights while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across CNC and manufacturing equipment
- Respond to breakdowns and perform fault-finding to minimise downtime
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Ensure all work complies with health & safety procedures, including isolations and permits
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to root cause analysis
Equipment & Environment
- CNC machinery (lathes, mills, machining centres)
- Automated and semi-automated production equipment
- Precision manufacturing / machining environment
About You
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or precision engineering environment
- Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., Indentured Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
- Strong mechanical background with electrical fault-finding capability
- PPM and Breakdown/Reactive maintenance experience
- Experience assembling complex mechanical assemblies.
- Experience optimising processes and procedures to improve output.
- Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting machinery.
- Experience maintaining CNC and automated machinery
- Comfortable working independently on a night shift
- Recognised engineering qualification (mechanical, electrical or multi-skilled)
