Spencer Clarke Group are working with a well-established nursery in Kirkham who are looking to appoint an experienced Nursery Manager to join their team from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and knowledgeable Early Years professional who is ready to lead a nursery setting, support staff development and ensure children receive the highest standard of care, learning and development.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a Nursery Manager or senior leadership role within an Early Years setting. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery, maintaining high standards across safeguarding, compliance, staff management, parent communication and the delivery of the EYFS.

Working Hours

This is a 40-hour-per-week role, working Monday to Friday, with flexibility for the successful candidate to work across 4 days where required.
The role follows an alternating shift pattern:
One week early shift: 7:30am to 4:30pm
One week late shift: 8:00am to 6:00pm
The position includes 28 days of holiday allowance per year. The nursery also closes for one week over the Christmas period.

The Role

  • As Nursery Manager, you will take responsibility for leading the nursery team and ensuring the setting runs smoothly, safely and effectively.
  • You will be responsible for:
  • Leading and managing the nursery team on a day-to-day basis
  • Ensuring high standards of care, education and safeguarding
  • Overseeing planning, routines and the delivery of the EYFS
  • Supporting staff performance, development and wellbeing
  • Building positive relationships with parents, carers and external professionals
  • Maintaining compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Creating a warm, safe and engaging environment for children to learn and thrive

The Ideal Candidate

  • We are looking for an experienced Nursery Manager who is:
  • Confident leading an Early Years team
  • Knowledgeable about the EYFS and safeguarding requirements
  • Organised, proactive and professional
  • Able to motivate, support and develop staff
  • Strong in communication with families and colleagues
  • Committed to maintaining high standards across the setting
  • Experienced in managing nursery operations, compliance and daily routines
  • A relevant Early Years qualification is required, along with previous management experience within a nursery or Early Years setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Spencer Clarke Group work with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area. We deal with teaching placements at Primary, Secondary, Special Education needs and college level as well as support staff positions also within these.
