A large and well-established four-form entry primary school in Hayes is seeking a dedicated Level 3 Nursery Nurse / Early Years Practitioner to support within a Reception class. The role is available to start September 2026, depending on the candidate's availability.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-structured Early Years team within a large, supportive primary school that places a strong focus on giving children a positive and engaging start to their education.

The Role

As a Reception Nursery Nurse, you will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils' development across all areas of the EYFS framework.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children's learning through play and structured activities
  • Assisting with phonics, early literacy, and early maths development
  • Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and communication skills
  • Working with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning
  • Helping to maintain a safe, stimulating classroom environment
  • Supporting the teacher with observations and progress tracking
  • Assisting with classroom routines, transitions, and outdoor learning

The role requires someone who is nurturing, proactive, and confident supporting young children as they begin their school journey.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must hold a recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification, such as:

  • CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education
  • Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator)
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development
  • BTEC National Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development
  • Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification

You should also have:

  • Experience working in an Early Years setting or Reception class
  • A good understanding of the EYFS framework
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting young children's development
